A range of microprobes designed to allow very fine pitch testing of PCBs, substrates, semiconductors and devices, from 0.46mm to 0.76mm test centres.
The PM2 and PA0 series, are of a non-replaceable design; the space saved by not having a receptacle allows testing to as small as 0.46mm centres. The fitment method is a delicate yet simple process and you can have the option of a pre-attached cable, allowing easier connection to the test jig.
The PA0 'R' series uses a receptacle, giving the added advantage of probe replaceability, yet still allowing testing at a minimum spacing of 0.5mm. The receptacle has the convenient option of a pre-attached cable.
Non-replaceable. No receptacle. 0.51mm test centres.

Installation
The non-replaceable microprobes feature a collar at the top of the barrel, which is used as a stop in the fitment process. Due to the minute barrel diameters and thin walls, it is imperative that the drilled hole diameter (0.34mm – 0.36mm) and straightness are very accurate. We recommend that the pre-wired option is taken as connecting a cable to these probes is an extremely delicate operation.
Usually, multi-plate fixtures containing no less than 3 plates, are used to retain large multiples of probes.
Otherwise a block of stable material which will allow reliable drilled holes is to be recommended, with the microprobe fitted wire/tail first with tweezers, with a small amount of locking compound on the side to secure it, if required.
Replaceable. Plug socket. 1mm test centres.

Installation
The tail of this PM4 series micro test probe plugs into a socket installed in a second block which is located beneath the probe plate. This allows the probe to be a replaceable item, without the extra width of a receptacle around it. The RM4C socket can either have a cable crimped or soldered to it. It can also accept the RM4T terminal plug.

Installation
The top of the PAO barrel is flared making its design different to many probes. This allows a high density of probes to be “pressed” directly into the probe plate eliminating the need for a receptacle or gluing. This “press-fit” feature also permits it to be installed in a variety of probe plate thicknesses and can be replaced relatively easily. The PAO is available with or without 30″ of 30 AWG insulated wire attached. It is installed into the probe plate with a probe insertion tool (part no. PITO) or a pair of tweezers. Shrink tubing can be used on alternate probes to provide strain relief in the termination and to reduce the possibility of electrical shorting.
To replace the probe, the wire is cut at the termination and the probe is then pushed out of the probe plate.
Replaceable with receptacle. 0.76mm test centres
